We are using a Chocolate Fountain for my daughter’s wedding reception. Any suggestions/tips about using one?
We understand the basic operation of the unit, but would welcome suggestions for type of chocolate to use, best types of food to dip in it, how to keep it flowing, etc.
I have one that I’m using at my reception (next week!). There is special fondue chocolate that you can buy (I got mine at an arts and craft store) that flows very well. If you bought a fountain, be sure that you are familiar with how it operates before the reception. The only thing you’ll need to do to keep it flowing is add more chocolate. From having used mine before, I can tell you that strawberries, pretzels, marshmallows, apples, bananas, and cake sqaures work really well and taste wonderful. As for the mess, I’m having bamboo skewers to pierce the food with prior to dipping and also a box of wet wipes for chocolate fingers. There won’t be any little kids at the reception to stick their fingers in the chocolate, but if there will be at your daughter’s wedding, I would recommend someone being the “guard” and watching over it. If you’re not careful, they are messy, and there just may be chocolate on the floor, so you may want to lay something under the table.
