how much does the average reception cost?
tonight we went to look at a banquet hall to see if we might like to book our reception there. I fell in love with it. my other half wants to look more. he thinks its pricey. for 50 people it was $950. that includes set up clean up dinner. decorations like center pieces china, table clothes and napkins. then it was another 1900 if you wanted the wedding package which includes the bartender, dj, Chocolate Fountain and cake. total of 4 hours. is this worth it? how much would it be if i booked seperately for caterer etc?
it is plated and it is 19 per person.
if i end up doing it seperately isnt it going to add up anyway?
If you check the average bridal magazine they will give you a figure upwards of $5K. Even if you cater and have a buffet, it’s not unusual to spend close to $3K on the reception. For everything you are getting the $950 is a bargain really and no hassle. Your future husband doesn’t get that part. Does he really want to find out that he’s not getting his little deposit back from some rinky dink cheap place because you all left it a mess and the person you asked to help with that didn’t bother – because that is what happens. Throwing in everything else for the added $1950 is really really good actually. When you break it down between everything from separate vendors and then having to find someone to coordinate it all and make sure they did what they were supposed to – it’s a ton of hassle. If you book it with different vendors there will be different fees, taxes and yeah – it all adds up to more than you think. Having one vendor responsible makes it so easy for you – why not???
